Get to Know Your New Outdoor Living Partner

Kyle Louks grew up on a small farm in Sheridan, Indiana before joining Kyle in Zionsville for high school. Both he and Kyle started swimming in the same lane their freshman year, and have been best friends since. Kyle decided to continue his swimming career at Wabash college. During his time at Wabash, Kyle was a two time captain of the swim team and was a part of the record setting 400 freestyle relay his senior year. 

While up in Crawfordsville, Indiana Kyle worked around Montgomery county, primarily in Sugar creek studying biology through the local ecosystems, along with the native plants that were found within. Through his time outdoors, Kyle found his interest in a career that combines outdoor environments and providing services that would be lasting solutions for families to enjoy the outdoors. 

Upon graduation, Kyle joined the marketing and project management teams at Bee Window. There he learned valuable skills about the process of home improvements as well as the expectations in the relationships between homeowners and their contractors. Kyle is bringing what he learned in the home improvement industry and applying it to landscape design to not only provide unique relationships with the customers, but to also enhance the process to create a streamlined and simplified approach to outdoor spaces.

As for landscape design and installation, Kyle’s primary focus is to guide each project in a way that exceeds the expectations of the customers and is a long-term, finished product that can be enjoyed for years to come with little to no maintenance. Zionsville has been the home for Kyle and Kyle for over a decade and they are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide services that are exclusive to Wellspring Land Design and to create spaces that families will love and enjoy. 

Kyle DeCoursey was born and raised in Zionsville, Indiana. As a highschooler, he discovered his passion for the outdoors and became an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also an accomplished swimmer and competed for Zionsville High School. Upon graduating high school, Kyle received a scholarship to swim for the University of Tennessee. 

While in Knoxville, Kyle began to pursue a degree in Landscape Design, with a double minor in sustainability and business. As a member of the swim team, he was able to earn 15 All-American awards. He was also a SEC academic honor recipient, and was selected as the Chancellor’s Honors recipient for outstanding academic achievement. Furthermore, Kyle was able to represent the United States at the FINA World Aquatic Championships where he won 2 gold medals. 

After graduating from Tennessee, Kyle took a job as a project manager and designer for a local landscape and hardscape company. In the following years, Kyle honed his skills while installing patios and landscapes on the steep slopes and poor soils of the Smoky Mountains. 

Now, with many years of experience, Kyle is bringing his skills back to his home state of Indiana. And while he has a passion and vision for landscape design, he can still occasionally be found exploring the outdoors or volunteering at the local high school pool that started him on his journey.
